Stylish extension and full refurbishment of a Victorian yellow-stock brick house to add space, light and value.
We worked closely with the architect and owners to create their design goals, creating contemporary, light and open spaces in a much loved but tired and under-utilised home. Working on a technically demanding site (a piled solution was needed for the extension foundations as access was limited), we developed this property with minimal disruption, on time and on budget.
The result is a stylish range of practical and open rooms that enhance the appeal and value of this London home. The striking look of the exterior is matched by distinctive interior features such as the vaulted feature skylight. Using high-quality fixtures and fittings throughout, the extension provides a seamless transition from the urban front of the property to the quiet, secluded garden at the rear.
The floor and worktops are a classic mix of Italian marble and solid wood. The family kitchen reception area opens onto the garden via double-glazed doors with safety glass. Window openings are made large to bring in as much light as possible, whilst warm and characterful London yellow stock brick is used to blend the exterior walls to the house and area.
