Following the success of the Crown Development, Mono Ltd were commissioned again to undertake a similar but larger development at 256 Wandsworth Road where the front façade of an existing pub was retained and the building massively extended to the rear, side and below ground.
After demolition, we piled 14 m down, then excavated the 150 m2 basement, underpinned adjoining structures, and undertook reinforced concrete and delta work. We then raised the five above-ground stories with steel frame and RC floor slabs, closing the structure with Metsec steel framing and a traditional brick outer skin alongside some well-detailed glazing elements.
Within the development we had complex changes in levels to accommodate with bespoke staircases and walk-on glass elements, amongst others. Each apartment benefits from a dedicated audio-visual and systems package, which our in-house technician maintains and adjusts as required. For security there is a comprehensive CCTV system throughout.
The development consisted of 10 apartments and three retail units and was completed over a 2 two year period to a budget all £2.3 million. Mono Ltd were also involved extensively with advice on design elements as the work progressed.
