Chic and stylish addition to iconic 1930’s residential flats in Belgravia.
The design of this project seamlessly blends a modern apartment with an established 1930’s art deco mansion block in central London, providing ultra high-quality accommodation with designer-led interiors. We worked closely with the client and architect to achieve the results they wanted in an awkward location.
The look and feel is very much based around sleek glass, steel and geometric shapes. These are accented with some subtle wood details and careful lighting to enhance the space. Worktops and bathroom surfaces are marble; fixtures and fittings are clean and simple stainless steel.
Natural light is used as much as possible to counter the confined location of the apartment, using modern skylight features to fill the rooms with light. The oversize electric sliding skylight was brought in by crane and opens fully to create a spectacular feature for the apartment. The small balcony accessed through a feature steel sliding door references the design and proportions of the building’s existing windows.
The end result: a calm and cool living space in the heart of London, adding value and interest to the whole building.
